Paint Studio

About

Paint Studio is a free, beginner-friendly painting workshop held on Thursdays at the Kissena Park Field House in Flushing, Queens. Participants learn the basics of watercolor painting and then explore how modeling paste can add texture and dimension to a picture. No experience is needed and all materials are provided, so you can turn up without any equipment. NYC Parks lists the class in a Multi-Use Room in Kissena Park as a weekly Thursday program starting on August 20, 2026. Our listing records no start time, so confirm the hour on the NYC Parks event page before you go. The class is listed as free. No age limit or registration requirement is recorded, so check the event page if you are bringing a child or want to reserve a place. Kissena Park is at Rose Ave and Oak Ave in Flushing. To get there by transit, take the 7 train to Flushing–Main St, then the Q17 or Q25 bus toward Kissena Boulevard. Kissena Park has other creative listings on the calendar, including the Beginner Crochet Workshop, a recurring series first listed for August 20, and Spooky Skully Still-Life Drawing on Saturday, October 17 at 1pm. Together with Paint Studio they give the park a small arts program alongside its tree planting days.
