Horticulture Community Volunteer Days 2026
About
Horticulture Community Volunteer Days at Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing are Thursday-morning sessions from 8:45 to 11:00 am, working with the garden's horticulture staff on a variety of gardening tasks that include hands-on work with plants. The garden's events page lists dates every Thursday from October 15 to December 24, 2026. It also lists November 26, but the same page says the garden is closed on Thanksgiving Day, so confirm that date before you go. The page does not print a minimum age, a price, what the garden provides or whether registration is required. Our listing records the sessions as free with registration required, so register through queensbotanical.org and dress for outdoor work. The early 8:45 start is the earliest of the garden's volunteer slots. The garden is at 43-50 Main Street, Flushing, NY 11355. Take the 7 to Flushing–Main St and walk about ten minutes south. Other volunteer mornings on the same events page are Monday compost builds, Wednesday farm days, occasional Sunday compost beautification mornings and a Rain Garden Stewardship day on November 19. Queens Botanical Garden has three recurring volunteer listings on our calendar, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and a Free Winter Admission period from December 16.
