Spoon Carving by Hand
About
Over two days you learn about wood species, grain direction, carving and food-safe finishes, using both hand and power tools, and you leave with a usable spoon (ages 18+). The class runs Saturday and Sunday, October 17–18, 10 AM–4 PM, at 1260 7th Street, Oakland, near West Oakland BART. The price is $380, or $352.50 for members. Most spoon-carving classes elsewhere in the Bay are a single afternoon, so the extra day here gives beginners time to finish properly.
