Birding by Kayak at Big Break
About
After dry-land instruction, paddlers head out in stable tandem kayaks into the Delta wetlands at Big Break to look for shorebirds with a naturalist; kayaks and safety gear provided. Thursday Oct 22, 11:30 am–3 pm from the kayak launch at 69 Big Break Rd, Oakley (drive/park); ages 12+, $40 resident / $44 non-resident, registration required. Also Nov 6 (10 am–1:30 pm, $40/$44) and Dec 3 and Dec 23 ($52/$58), so you can catch the winter waterfowl arrivals.
